Goodwill Chair Makeover - Part 1

Hello!

If you follow me on Instagram.  You'll remember that I scored a great barrel-back cane chair for only $15!!

Here's what she looked like:

The chair is in great condition, I just wasn't loving the fabric.

I wanted to choose a solid fabric for the front and a fun accent pattern for the back.  I chose a pretty peacock blue fabric and found a gorgeous colorful toile fabric for the back panel.  I plan on using this chair in my living room and I figured the blue is neutral enough to fit in a lot of different spaces/design schemes but it's much better than a boring beige (my couch, 2 chairs, and carpet are all some form of brown/beige)!  Here's a sneak peek at the back panel:

The fabric on the ground is for the rest of the chair.  It's going to be so so cute!  I will post the finished product soon.

Have a great Saturday!

Gallery Wall - Part 2

Hello again!

Last time we left off my gallery wall-to-be looked like this:

I wasn't happy with how the upper left-hand corner was looking so I switched things around and ended up with this:

It's a bit more symmetrical without being too matchy-matchy, which is what I was going for this time!  And here's how the frames look after I hung them!

I'm loving it!!  Let's take a closer look!

As you can see, I don't have many frames filled just yet!  I'm working on it - I will post again once they are all filled.

My favorite part about the gallery wall is the black Target frame I jazzed up with some hardware and hammered nailheads!

What do you think?  Do you usually collect your art first or pick out your frames first?

Thanks for looking!

Gallery Wall - Part 1

So this happened last night:

We recently bought a new tv (and we painted the wall again!) so I had to take down my old gallery wall.  I wanted it to be bigger and better this time so I bought a few extra frames.  I found some pretty silver ones on clearance at Target that I'm going to incorporate.  So the frames will be a mix of black, gold and silver.

I'm so proud of myself for actually taking the time to cut out paper pieces and play with the shape of my gallery wall before I just start hammering away (that's usually how I roll).  I'm going to play around with it a bit more tonight and hopefully will hang some frames soon!

I will keep you updated - just wanted to share a sneak peek!

Anything you would change?!  How's it looking?

ExtravaGAGAnza

P.S. - Did any of you watch the WWHL ExtravaGAGAnza last night?  Amazing.  I can't stop giggling at this picture of Andy:

Love him :-)

Master Bathroom Redo

Hello!  It's been a while (even though I vowed to blog more often ;) hehe). Today I wanted to share some photos (iPhone quality, don't judge!) of our master bathroom renovation we completed this summer.  If you remember the before pictures of our bathroom, you probably recall the awful red painted wallpaper (a Bella and Birch infomercial product- yuck!)  We ended up having to have a friend plaster over it because we could not remove that darn stuff!!!  We finally got around to re-tiling our bathtub this past May and we've been enjoying our new subway tiled shower alllllll summer.  We love it and I hope you do, too!

Here's a look at our bathroom when we first bought the house:

It definitely needed some TLC, am I right?!?

I really wanted to brighten up this space and make it simple, clean and timeless.  If you check out my Pinterest board you'll see all of my inspiration photos for the project!

We had never tiled anything before so to prepare ourselves for the task, I scoured the web for tutorials.  I really loved the tutorial I found at Queen B and Me.  She was very clear and straight-forward with her directions and it gave me all the confidence I needed to tackle such a scary project!  Definitely check it out if you are planning a similar project.

Here is what it looked like after we finished the tiling job:

Since then we have added a shelf to hold cotton swabs, cotton rounds, make-up brushes, etc, and a picture frame holding a pretty Manet print.

Details:
Wall Color - Silver Drop by Behr
Subway Tile - 3x6 from Home Depot
Grout Color - Dove Gray from Tile Shop
Shower Curtain - Crate and Barrel
Picture Frame - IKEA (added brass brackets from Home Depot)
Shelf - Lowes
Curtain Rod, Curtain Hooks, Toilet Paper Holder, and Towel Bars - all found at Home Goods/TJMaxx
Rugs - Target (old)

Thanks for reading.  Hope you love it as much as we do!  Please let me know if you have any questions or comments.

I couldn't resist adding one last picture of my cutie-pie hubby during our tiling adventure :-)

Haha!  Have a good night!
